Shadow Guardian Teaser!

It is time for six sentence sunday!
From my WIP, Shadow Guardian, the first in the Shadow series. Paranormal Romance.

“What would you do with your very own vampire?” He moved closer, inches from me, his eyes boring into mine, his scent intoxicating me.

“That depends on what he wanted to do with me.” My voice shook and I was losing my hold on reality, but I did like this new turn, at least he didn’t think I was insane yet.

He moved closer, lips skimming my throat. He stopped for a brief second and I used the momentary relief to breathe before his lips trailed down to my collarbone and began working slowly back up, his teeth grazing the length of my neck before stopping at my jaw where he kissed me and  pulled away.

Balancing priorities

I don't know if anyone else has issues with this, but I am finding that it is difficult to keep up with everything. Between writing, editing, classes, and real life, I have noticed a pattern of getting involved in one thing, getting it going well, then focusing on another to the detriment of the first.
I have lists, charts and things to keep me organized, but it seems that life just doesn't plan out as well as on paper. So while I pursue balance in my life, I am constantly reminded that sometimes the scales tip and it is up to me to nudge them back the other way and keep a closer watch on them in the future. Would love to hear others' thoughts on the matter :-)

Legalities, Rights, and the cost of them.

I've had my fair share of legal issues. Unfortunately, I haven't always had the time or money to deal with them properly or it broke me to do so. Sadly, this is the condition predominant across the country. One of our founding values is Justice For All, but all do not recieve justice. Usually this is due to a lack of time and or money.
I came across a program recently that solves this issue. It is affordable. It puts a lawyer at your fingertips 24/7. I was stoked. With my previous legal experiences, I immediately saw the value in this service. Similar to insurance, you pay a (very low) monthly fee in exchange for the peace of mind having a lawyer 'on call' brings. The benefits are extensive and the price never increases. I had been thinking that a lawyer was something I needed to find because of my newfound profession, but lack of funds put that on the back burner.
Now I have an entire team of lawyers all across the nation at my disposal should I need them. Although this service has been available since 1972, I just learned of it. Everyone should know about this great opportunity! It can save people so much time, money and heartache it's not even funny. I believe in it so much I signed up to sell it so I could spread the word to everyone I know.

Six Sentence Sunday

So, I was informed of a blog where on Sundays, authors post six sentences of their current work or WIP. Sounded like a great idea to me, so I have put six sentences of Shadow Guardian, book one in the shadow series, for your reading enjoyment.

He brought his lips toward mine with infinite patience. I had plenty of time to refuse, but I was done fighting, I wanted to give in and feel what it would be like to be with Roman. I wanted to feel his hands on my body, his lips on mine. I lost myself in his gaze as he drew near. My last thread of control exploded when his lips finally met mine and I gave a small sigh of defeat. Not that I minded being conquered, quite the opposite, this was pure bliss.

I hope you enjoyed the teaser, I will have excerpts up on the site soon ;-)

The Dreaded Social Media!

I know I'm a dinosaur! I've shied away from social media largely because, well, I didn't have time for something like that. Guess what? Now I have to make the time. I drug myself into facebook and twitter kicking and screaming and protesting.
You know what I found out?
It's not that bad. It's actually kind of fun. Never thought those words would pass my lips. I must give a large credit here to Ken and Lisa Kessler, at Savvy Authors, who held a workshop in those dreaded social media platforms. They made it fun and easy to understand, even for someone with prejudices like me. No, I'm not great at it yet, I'm still working on content, checking in and posting things but I'm getting better - a lot better and I have people following and liking me :-)
I met a lot of great people in the class and with any luck we will stay in touch and help each other through our social media rising!

Updates

I sent out Shadow Guardian to Black Opal Books today. Here's hoping they're the one!! Website is updated but due to issues with Go Daddy I am unable to upload. I will be finding a new host as (conveniently) my service is almost up with go daddy. I will let everyone know when the new content is up on the web. I have many projects in the works, personal and professional so I apologize for the lack of updates on the site.
Hope everyone has a great day!
